Peer Review Process
International Journal of Education and Learning Studies (IJELS) was established in 2025 and is published by PT. Intelektiva Global Nusantara. All manuscripts submitted to IJELS undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific contribution of published articles. Publication decisions are based solely on academic merit, scientific validity, and relevance to the field of education.
1. Initial Editorial Screening
All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the Editor or Editorial Team within approximately 7–14 days. At this stage, the manuscript is assessed for its relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, academic quality, and adherence to the journal’s submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet the minimum requirements may be rejected without external review.
2. Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or iThenticate. The similarity index should normally not exceed 20%. Manuscripts that exceed this threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected.
3. Double-Blind Peer Review
IJELS applies a double-blind peer review process in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to ensure an objective and unbiased evaluation. Each manuscript that passes the editorial screening is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on several criteria, including scientific originality, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, relevance to the field of education, and contribution to existing literature. The peer review process typically takes 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability.
4. Revision Stage
Authors may be requested to revise their manuscript based on reviewers’ comments. The revision process may involve minor revisions or major revisions. Authors are expected to respond to each reviewer comment and submit a revised manuscript within the specified timeframe determined by the editor.
5. Final Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ reports and the revised manuscript, the Editor makes the final decision regarding the manuscript. Possible decisions include: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject. If necessary, the Editor may consult with members of the Editorial Board before making the final decision.
6. Copyediting and Publication
Accepted manuscripts proceed to the copyediting and layout editing stage to ensure clarity, consistency, and formatting according to the journal template. The final version of the article is then prepared for online publication in the journal issue.
The overall peer review and editorial decision process generally takes approximately 8–12 weeks from submission to final decision, depending on the revision process and reviewer availability.
