Jurnal Inovasi dan Riset Pendidikan Dasar (JIRPD), published by PT. Intelektiva Global Nusantara, is committed to upholding academic integrity, originality, and responsible publication practices in elementary education research.
All submitted Original Research Articles and Review Articles must constitute original scholarly work and must be free from plagiarism, inappropriate textual overlap, undisclosed duplicate publication, and other forms of publication misconduct.
Submitted manuscripts undergo similarity screening using Turnitin or other appropriate plagiarism-detection software before entering the peer-review process.
Similarity screening is intended to:
JIRPD applies an internal editorial screening threshold of 20% overall similarity, subject to appropriate exclusions and editorial assessment.
Manuscripts exceeding the stated threshold may be returned to authors for correction, further examination, or rejection based on the seriousness and nature of the overlap.
A similarity index of 20% or lower does not automatically indicate freedom from plagiarism or guarantee manuscript acceptance. A low overall similarity score may conceal substantial copying from a particular source.
Editors assess the location, concentration, source, extent, and context of overlapping content, including whether it has been appropriately cited, quoted, or disclosed.
Where appropriate, the following materials may be excluded from automated similarity calculations or interpreted separately:
These exclusions do not permit unacknowledged copying. Standard methodological descriptions must still be appropriately attributed when their wording or ideas are borrowed from identifiable sources.
Exclusions must be applied consistently and should not be used to artificially conceal significant overlap.
Copying text, data, tables, figures, instruments, or other scholarly materials from another source without adequate acknowledgment.
Combining wording or ideas from several sources with minor alterations while failing to provide proper attribution.
Reproducing the substance and expression of another work through superficial wording changes without appropriate citation and independent formulation.
Reusing substantial passages, previously published analyses, or other original material without transparent disclosure, citation, or justification.
Submitting or publishing substantially overlapping research findings or review content as independent original work without appropriate disclosure.
Misrepresenting the origin of scholarly ideas, incorrectly attributing contributions, or using misleading citations. These practices may constitute plagiarism or related citation misconduct.
Translating material from another language and presenting it as original without properly acknowledging the source.
JIRPD conducts or repeats similarity assessment at the following editorial stages, as applicable:
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts meet applicable originality and publication ethics requirements. Specifically, authors must:
The Editorial Board evaluates possible plagiarism based on the available evidence and the seriousness of the suspected violation. Appropriate actions may include:
Editorial decisions will consider the authors' responses and will not be determined solely by a similarity percentage. Actions should be proportionate to the evidence and consistent with the journal's publication ethics procedures.
Editors, reviewers, readers, academic institutions, and other parties may report suspected plagiarism. Reports should identify the relevant article or manuscript and provide sufficient evidence or source information to support initial assessment.
JIRPD will assess credible allegations, request author clarification where appropriate, and manage investigations with reasonable confidentiality and attention to conflicts of interest.
Serious or unresolved allegations may require consultation with relevant institutions or independent experts. The editorial office will document its findings and decisions in accordance with applicable journal procedures.
When plagiarism, duplicate publication, or serious unattributed overlap is suspected after publication, JIRPD will investigate in accordance with its Publication Ethics and Retraction Policies and take account of relevant COPE guidance.
Depending on the nature and consequences of the findings, the journal may publish a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction. Editorial notices should identify the relevant article, explain the action, and remain permanently linked to the publication record.
JIRPD supports recognized principles of publication ethics, responsible citation, transparent editorial assessment, and appropriate post-publication corrections.
The 20% similarity threshold is an internal editorial screening criterion, not a universal definition of plagiarism.
JIRPD is committed to publishing original, appropriately attributed, and methodologically responsible scholarship through transparent plagiarism screening, fair editorial evaluation, and appropriate corrective actions when publication misconduct is established.
