MANUSCRIPT TYPES

1. Introduction

Jurnal Inovasi dan Riset Pendidikan Dasar (JIRPD) publishes original scholarly contributions addressing theoretical, empirical, methodological, and practical developments in elementary education.

The journal provides an academic platform for researchers, educators, teachers, and educational practitioners to disseminate research findings, educational innovations, critical analyses, and evidence-based practices that contribute to the advancement of elementary education.

JIRPD accepts two principal manuscript categories: Original Research Articles and Review Articles.

2. Original Research Articles

Original Research Articles

Original Research Articles present previously unpublished empirical findings derived from systematically conducted research. Manuscripts must demonstrate clear research objectives, rigorous methodology, valid findings, critical discussion, and significant contributions to elementary education.

Research approaches may include:

  • Quantitative Research: Experimental, quasi-experimental, correlational, survey, and comparative studies examining educational phenomena.
  • Qualitative Research: Case studies, phenomenology, ethnography, grounded theory, and other qualitative approaches investigating educational experiences and processes.
  • Mixed-Methods Research: Studies integrating quantitative and qualitative evidence to investigate complex elementary education issues.
  • Educational Design Research: Studies involving the systematic design, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational innovations.
  • Research and Development: Research-based development and validation of instructional models, learning media, educational materials, or assessment instruments.
  • Classroom Action Research: Systematic research aimed at improving instructional practices, classroom processes, and student learning outcomes.
  • Educational Evaluation Research: Studies assessing educational programs, learning interventions, curriculum implementation, or instructional effectiveness.
  • Comparative and Longitudinal Research: Investigations examining educational differences, developments, or changes across contexts or time.

Original Research Articles should present an appropriate scholarly structure consisting of an introduction, literature review where relevant, methods, results and discussion, conclusion, and references.

Manuscript length: Approximately 5,000–8,000 words, including tables, figures, and references.

3. Review Articles

Review Articles

Review Articles provide rigorous and critical syntheses of existing scholarly literature, identify theoretical, methodological, or empirical research gaps, evaluate current knowledge, and develop implications for elementary education research, policy, and practice.

Accepted review approaches may include:

  • Systematic Literature Review: A transparent and reproducible synthesis of research using explicit eligibility criteria and systematic procedures.
  • Scoping Review: A systematic mapping of research evidence, concepts, thematic developments, and knowledge gaps within elementary education.
  • Bibliometric Review: Quantitative analysis of scholarly publications, citation networks, research trends, and thematic evolution.
  • Integrative Review: Integration of theoretical and empirical studies to develop broader conceptual or practical understanding.
  • Critical or Theoretical Review: Analytical examination of educational theories, conceptual frameworks, methodological perspectives, or academic debates.

Review manuscripts must clearly describe their objectives, information sources, literature selection procedures, review methods, analytical or synthesis approaches, principal findings, and scholarly contributions.

Manuscript length: Approximately 5,000–8,000 words, including tables, figures, and references.
