1. Journal Overview

Jurnal Inovasi dan Riset Pendidikan Dasar (JIRPD) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal focusing on research and innovation in elementary education. The journal publishes original research addressing elementary teaching and learning, curriculum development, educational assessment, learning technologies, teacher development, and related educational issues.

JIRPD publishes three issues annually in January, May, and September.

2. Manuscript Types

JIRPD accepts original research articles presenting empirical findings, classroom-based research, educational interventions, and systematic investigations relevant to elementary education. Manuscripts must demonstrate originality, methodological rigor, and clear scholarly contributions.

3. General Manuscript Requirements

• Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
• Articles may be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English.
• Authors must use the official JIRPD template.
• Manuscript length should be approximately 5,000–8,000 words, including tables, figures, and references.
• The article title must not exceed 20 words.
• Abstracts must be provided in Indonesian and English, each containing no more than 150 words.
• Provide 3–5 keywords.
• All manuscripts must follow APA 7th Edition.
• Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and duplicate publication.
• All listed authors must approve the submission.

The Anonymous Manuscript must follow the official template and contain:

6. Guidance for Manuscript Sections

Title: Concise and informative, reflecting the research focus, with a maximum of 20 words.

Abstract: Maximum 150 words per language, presenting the research problem, objectives, methods, key findings, and conclusions. Citations should not be included.

Introduction: Present the background, research problem, relevant literature, research gap, novelty, significance, and objectives.

Literature Review: When included, critically synthesize relevant theoretical and empirical literature.

Method: Explain research design, participants, sampling, instruments, data collection, ethics, and data analysis in sufficient detail.

Results and Discussion: Present findings systematically and interpret them in relation to the research objectives, theories, and previous studies.

Conclusion: Summarize major findings, scholarly contributions, implications, limitations, and recommendations.

References: List all cited sources alphabetically following APA 7th Edition.

7. Formatting Guidelines

• Paper size: A4 (210 × 297 mm).
• Margins: 2.54 cm on all sides.
• Main font: Arial, 12 pt.
• Line spacing: 2.
• Text alignment: Justified.
• File format: Microsoft Word (.docx preferred).
• Follow the journal template for heading hierarchy, captions, and other layout elements.
• Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text.
• Table titles appear above tables; figure captions appear below figures.
• Equations must use appropriate mathematical formatting.

8. Citation and Reference Style

All citations and references must follow APA 7th Edition. At least 80% of references should consist of primary scholarly research sources, particularly peer-reviewed journal articles. Authors should prioritize literature published within the last ten years while retaining relevant foundational sources. Include DOIs when available and use reference managers such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote.

9. Publication Ethics and Research Integrity

• Originality: Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and duplicate publication are prohibited.
• Authorship: All authors must satisfy the journal's authorship criteria and approve the manuscript.
• Ethics: Human-participant studies must obtain appropriate ethical approval or explain any applicable exemption.
• Consent: Informed consent and parental or guardian consent must be obtained where required.
• Conflicts of Interest: All relevant competing interests must be disclosed.
• Funding: Authors must identify funding sources or declare the absence of funding.
• Data Availability: Authors must explain access to supporting data while protecting privacy and confidentiality.

10. Generative AI Policy

Authors must disclose substantive use of generative AI tools. AI systems cannot be credited as authors. Authors remain responsible for verifying the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all submitted content and references. Applicable AI use must be stated on the Title Page in accordance with the journal's AI policy.

11. Editorial Screening and Peer Review

Submissions undergo preliminary editorial screening for scope, originality, completeness, formatting, and ethical compliance. Manuscripts meeting these requirements proceed through the journal's double-blind peer-review process. Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, methodological quality, originality, and reviewer evaluations.

12. Online Manuscript Submission

1. Visit the JIRPD Submission Page.
2. Register an author account or log in.
3. Select New Submission and complete the required checklist.
4. Upload the Anonymous Manuscript as the main submission file.
5. Upload the Title Page as a separate editorial document.
6. Upload the Cover Letter separately for the editorial office.
7. Complete manuscript metadata, including title, abstract, keywords, authors, and affiliations.
8. Upload supporting documents where required.
9. Review all information and confirm the submission.

13. Copyright, Licensing, and Open Access

JIRPD provides access to published scholarly content in accordance with its open-access and licensing policies. Authors must review the journal's copyright, reuse, and distribution terms before submission.

14. Publication Fees

All applicable submission and publication charges, including any waiver provisions, are described on the Article Processing Charges page. Authors should review this policy before submission.

15. After Acceptance

Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, layout editing, and proofreading as appropriate. The corresponding author is responsible for reviewing the final proof, resolving editorial queries, and ensuring that author information and declarations are accurate before publication.
