Journal History

Effective October 22, 2026, the Indonesian Journal of Community Service in Education (IJCSE) introduced a simplified manuscript submission policy to make the submission process more accessible and convenient for authors of community service and community engagement articles.

Under this updated policy, authors are no longer required to follow a rigid journal-specific article layout template. Manuscripts may be prepared with greater flexibility while continuing to meet the journal's article structure, basic formatting requirements, community engagement reporting standards, citation style, and publication ethics as outlined in the Author Guidelines.

All submissions must include three separate documents:

• Cover Letter – A formal letter explaining the community engagement activity, originality, practical contribution, relevance to IJCSE, and approval by all authors.
• Title Page – A separate document containing author information, institutional affiliations, correspondence details, author contributions, and required declarations.
• Anonymous Manuscript – The complete community service article without identifying author information, prepared for double-blind peer review.

Standard document formats for the Title Page and Anonymous Manuscript remain available to assist authors. This policy simplifies the preparation and submission of manuscripts while maintaining the journal's standards of transparent reporting, academic integrity, community engagement quality, and peer review.

Starting from Volume 3, Number 1 (2027), IJCSE adjusted its manuscript template in accordance with Permendiktisaintek Nomor 9 Tahun 2026, the Regulation of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology on the Accreditation of Scientific Journals.

As part of this adjustment, the ethical and transparency declaration statements—previously positioned at the front of the manuscript template—have been relocated to the back of the manuscript, in accordance with the updated regulation. The statements have also been revised as follows:

• Author Contributions – Describe each author’s contribution using the CRediT taxonomy.
• Funding Statement – Declare all research funding or state “This research received no external funding.”
• Ethical Statement – Provide ethics approval and informed consent details for studies involving human or animal participants, or state “Not applicable”.
• Data Availability Statement – Indicate where supporting data can be accessed or explain any restrictions.
• Declaration of Competing Interests – Declare any potential conflicts of interest or state “The authors declare no competing interests.”
• Generative AI Use Statement – Disclose any use of generative AI tools in the research or writing process, or state “Not applicable.”

IJCSE implemented a comprehensive revision of its manuscript template to improve clarity, readability, structural consistency, and alignment with contemporary academic publishing practices.

The revised template was designed to assist authors in preparing community service manuscripts more systematically and to support greater consistency across published articles.

• Revision of the manuscript structure to improve the logical organization of community service articles.
• Addition of clearer guidance for the Introduction, Problems and Targets, Method, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion sections.
• Improvement of instructions for presenting tables, figures, citations, and references.
• Adjustment of formatting requirements to strengthen readability and consistency across published manuscripts.

The Indonesian Journal of Community Service in Education (IJCSE) was officially established by PT. Intelektiva Global Nusantara and began its publication journey in 2025.

The journal was founded to provide a dedicated scholarly platform for publishing community service, community empowerment, educational outreach, and community engagement initiatives across formal, non-formal, and informal education contexts.
